Euroasi – From Europe to Asia: “Capitalizing” Experience in youth work

EUROASI is a Capacity Building project coordinated by TDM 2000 International, with the cooperation of partners from 6 countries, 4 from Europe and 2 from South East Asia, that will last 23 months. The aim of the project is to share with the partner countries from South East Asia the extensive experience gained and the best practices acquired in the last two decades thanks to the European programmes dedicated to youth. The expected results are a better comprehension of the importance of non-formal education and youth mobility as tools to bring a positive change in the life of local young people, and, eventually, in their society, a strengthened partnership between European and partner countries organisations and a better understanding of the opportunities offered by the European Union. Through a series of activities organized at local, international level and online, such as conferences, training in the field, job shadowing and EVS, the project will foster capacity building and innovation in the field of international youth work, promote non formal learning and youth mobility and empower youth people from the partner countries.
Structure of the project: EUROASI is an ambitious project with an elaborate structure. It starts with an international kick off meeting, held in Italy, and 6 local conferences, one in each partner country, to present the project. A mid term international evaluation meeting will be held in Malta, while the final international dissemination meeting will be host by the Italian partner, alongside with 6 local dissemination conferences held in each country. At local level the project foresees a training in the field lasting 10 months in Indonesia and The Philippines, divided in 5 modules:
a) Management of a Youth NGO
b) Project Management
c) Financial Management
d) Human Resources Management
e) Communication, Visibility and Dissemination.
The training part foresees also an innovative online tool, the E-learning Platform, which will allow trainers and trainees to carry on with the studying and to evaluate the knowledge acquired. This way the trainees will have a more comprehensive learning experience and will keep up their motivation.
After that a 1 - month accompanying period will allow the trainees to start putting into practice what they have been learning.
Later on 10 trainees and youth workers from Indonesia and the Philippines will visit the 5 European partners to observe their daily work for 21 days. Secondly, TDM 2000 Italy, KUD Plac Slovenia and Synergia Portugal will host 4 EVS volunteers each from the South East Asian partners.
